
































Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a zoological theme park in Florida, and is the largest theme park in the world, covering 580 acres. The park is dedicated to and themed around the natural environment and animal conservation, drawing heavily on the natural landscapes of Africa and Asia, creating habitats for many species originating from those regions. The park is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums, having met or exceeded the standards in education, conservation, and research.
During his tenure as Director of Landscape Design at Walt Disney Imagineering and Landscape Architect for the park and entire resort area within it, Comstock was heavily consulted for the development of the extensive habitats for animals, drawing on his global travel and education, and extensive research.The lands are home to many species, including some endangered, several of which have continued to produce offspring, supported by their carefully considered natural habitats, courtesy of Comstock. Disney's Animal Kingdom's landscape contains the largest botanical collection of any theme park in the world. The horticultural collection is composed of trees, shrubs, grasses, ground covers and vines from the old world and new world.
